A very wicked man was killed this week. His death has given closure to many who were directly affected by his violent actions. However, he only represents a small portion of those who embrace the same ideology his wickedness was fueled by.
Before you misunderstand, I am not writing this as a tirade against any specific ideology, but rather to express some thoughts about wickedness, in general.
Standing up for what is right, and fighting in the natural realm against evil actions, even going to war is good, and honorable. I am very proud of our armed forces and of President Obama’s willingness to listen to the will of the American people to pursue this particular enemy until this terrorist was brought to justice. The fact remains; however, that many others will rise up to take his place as perpetrators of evil. They will come from all different ideologies, religions and cultures.
Wickedness in the earth, that fills some and has tainted ALL, is a powerful spiritual force. The battle against wickedness is essentially spiritual and it is for the souls of men, and there is a real enemy.
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12).
Sadly, the existence of Satan is treated with sarcasm and skepticism by most people. Regardless of popular opinion, the destroyer, Lucifer ~ Satan is very real and has been allowed to roam the earth since Adam and Eve first encountered him in the Garden of Eden. The mystery and purpose, as to why our loving Heavenly Father is allowing this, is difficult to perceive.
I, among many others, believe he is basically only here to clarify the intentions of the hearts of each individual on earth. We know he is no real match for YHWH (Name of our God according to Exodus 3:13-15), and the two of them are not at war. He was expelled from heaven and will eventually be thrown into theLake ofFire and then we will see some real dancing in the streets!!!
The Bible actually tells us that his weapons and any authority he was given from Adam and Eve’s abdicating their God given authority in the earth, have been seized and he has been declared defeated.
“…having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.” Colossians 2:14-15.
Then why does destruction still rage? Why does wickedness still fill the earth? Although there are those who, by faith in YHWH Shua, (Jesus) our Messiah and through His commands will resist and have victory over Satan to varying degrees in this life; wickedness will only be finally completely eliminated, when the One who created the world in perfection, and redeemed it by His own Holy Blood returns.
At that time He will once and for all silence the invisible demonic warriors to whom men and women have succumbed. Until then, we must continue to pray for our leaders and for the people of our nation and for the whole world to resist the forces of evil, and submit and be submissive to the Lord of Glory and Love.
The greatness and depth of what wickedness is and how it infiltrates the souls of men can never be completely understood by our puny human brains. We can improve our perception, if we focus on the opposite force, which is the Holiness of YHWH. Considering how Holiness compares to and counteracts wickedness may help bring light to the subject. So let’s think about His Holiness.
First of all consider this; the ability of something to carry a load or contain an amount is called its capacity. Also, the container or load bearing device must be greater than the thing it will bear. Many people marvel and even doubt that one man’s blood could remedy the entire problem of wickedness. The Holiness of Messiah’s Divine Blood is beyond what we can begin to understand. His divine birth was the result of Holy Spirit putting Life directly from YHWH into Mary’s womb. This kept the Son of God from inheriting the corrupted DNA from Adam. There was no sperm involved, so He inherited zero defective genetic traits. Iniquity is the sinful nature; our Lord was not born with a sinful nature. There are seven basic aspects or root causes of wickedness, which we all inherit in our human nature. They are; Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth (laziness), Wrath, Envy, Pride.
Beyond not inheriting iniquity, Jesus kept himself pure by resisting temptations thereby avoiding the sinful choices that would have contaminated his soul. His Blood was Holy and remained Holy.
Holiness is not merely goodness, it is so much more than we can fathom! We have never seen complete Holiness on this planet, except in our Savior. There are seven Godly virtues which are the exact opposite of wickedness; Chastity(Love), Abstinence, Liberality(generosity), Diligence, Patience, Kindness, Humility. Every human has levels of sin and levels of virtues. No one is truly completely good, except for the Lord Jesus, He is and was and always will be perfect, Holy. No human can be free from sin and worthy of eternal life in Heaven unless they fall on the grace of the Creator through His free gift of salvation and redemption through Messiah. Once redeemed the Holy Spirit imparts a new nature which is the new birth. This makes us sons and daughters of YHWH capable of walking in Righteousness which exhibits in the Godly virtues.
This miraculous redemption is possible because He was able to not only bear ALL wickedness, but bear the punishment for ALL wickedness, as well. That punishment, by the way, involved much more than the Cross. Crucifixion was/is only a symbol of Him accepting the curse which wickedness inflicts on us. The death He died was only the surface or like brush strokes on the painting of what truly occurred. For one thing, He was forever separated from His Father in a way we can never know; it brought him such agony prior to and during his death. Now He is exalted forevermore, and sits at the right hand of the Heavenly Father. We will someday see Him again in the form which He took on for us. Like Thomas, we will be able to touch his glorified human body, including His scars. Incidentally, He will be the only one in Heaven with scars.
Just remember when you see wickedness displayed, be encouraged! Jesus’ Love is deeper, His Holiness Greater than any power of darkness. The One who Bore the sins of the world, YHWH Shua ha Mashiach, Jesus the Messiah, is able to keep us, deliver us and to extend grace for the last few days of this battle.
“GREATER IS HE THAT IS IN ME THAN HE THAT IS IN THE WORLD.” 1 John 4:4
